This is a group of pictures I took one day while Molly and i were eating lunch. The light was streaming in through the blinds, she had washed her hair that morning, and she was looking so beautiful. Enjoy!

Molly: the artist

Molly is a very creative artist. Here are just a few of my favorites from the recent past.
Above you'll see a dinosaur, with his lizard friend (lizard is in pink, with green legs to the bottom left). The dino has two nostrils, two eyes, a tail with scales and big jaw muscles for chomping! Molly made this for her friend Mishya (who also likes dinosaurs).

This one is a closeup of the face of a T-Rex. It's pretty faint, but if you look closely, you can really see those powerful jaw muscles! And notice his "tiny arms" and the fact that he is eating a "dead dinosaur", or carrion as she prefers to call it. She's very interested in dinosaurs and likes to talk about the whole predator/prey thing, but seems to make it okay for herself by saying the meat eaters found plant eaters that were already dead to eat.

This is a picture she drew of herself under a rainbow. I wish i could remember what she is holding in her hands. I know she told me but I didn't write it down and now it's gone. Darn that memory of mine!


This is her artistic representation of a nerf gun (or "shooter" as she calls it) after spending time at the neighbors where they have nerf guns. You'll note that it is a very intricate piece of machinary! The green projectile at the top is the nerf bullet. And don't forget the heart near the top, cuz what's a "shooter" without some love!

Here she is a while back (notice all that hair!) when she was in her balloon animal phase. She made this all by herself (well, i blew up the balloon, but that's it) I believe it's a dog, or possibly a camel?


Speaking of camels, here's a picture of a camel with his mouse friend above him and a couple other friends to the side. I especially liked the added touch of the jewels and letters!

Here is another dinosaur, who lost his glasses along the way (you'll notice them to the right) and who is now peeing in the grass. Yep, you read me right. That totally cracked me up.

At school they've been drawing pictures and then telling stories to go along with them. Molly's done some amazing drawings, and then the teachers write down her stories. Here are some samples!

One day they learned about how to make ice cream, and this is Molly's representation of herself with a "giant ice cream maker".

Warning, this next one is kind of sad, but very sweet. Molly's teacher told me they both cried when they worked on this one together. By the way, the thing in Molly's hand in this picture is one of those "ball launchers" you can get for dogs - not a poop scooper.


Here is some of her artwork from this year's Art Walk at the Montessori House of St. Johns. She had her own theme this year (she was in the middle of swim lessons)! They did a project on peace, and here is Molly's idea of peace is:


The kids created a neighborhood together, with each child making something they thought was important to a community. There were grocery stores, hospitals, veterinary clinics, bike shops, donut shops and more. Molly of course made sure the neighborhood had a swimming pool!

A picture Molly sent to her Grandma Nancy, a "thank you" for our lovely trip down to California for my birthday. There is an elephant, and mice and cats and all sorts of good things.


Here is one she drew of me and Zero and her and we're all on each other's heads.

And finally, my very favorite, a picture she drew back in May of her "whole family". She's the one on the bottom left with the leash walking Harley.

As you can see, where going to need to buy a second home to hold all the artwork!
